El Nido Philippines Part I | Boat Tour C

After wandering around Peurto Princesa I made my way towards El Nido via a 6 hour local bus ride.

I had read about El Nido on a lot of other travel blogs, particularly Nathan Allen’s I Dreamed of This: Paradise Found El Nido, Palawan, and I was also told by my Filipino friend, Dinny, that I needed to go and check it out.

One of the main things to do in El Nido is the boat tours. There’s about 5 different tours and every guesthouse/restaurant/tour office in El Nido offers them for about the same price (1200-1500 pesos). I recommended booking with my friend Keeyan, her tour booth is right next to Casa Buenavista. If you plan on multiple tours, you can probably negotiate a small discount. On my first full day, I decided to do Tour C, which I had heard was one of the best.

It was. Even though it was cloudy and the water was choppy, the landscapes were stunning. At this point in my travels I have been on a lot of boats and seen A LOT of landscapes, but the seascapes and cliffscapes in El Nido are truly some of the most remarkable I’ve seen. We had a great day out on the water. There were a few stops, like the Secret Lagoon, where we couldn’t bring cameras because we had to climb through little rock holes to get to the beach. It was amazing! I was really happy that I had purchased a little waterproof case for my iphone before my trip, and I made use of it to photograph these spots.

I made some amazing friends in El Nido and I fell in love with it. I was only going to stay 3 or 4 days and I ended up staying 14, so my next few blog entries will all be dedicated to El Nido.
