{Gay} Bryant Park Wedding // Brian + Ted

When Brian wrote me about his and Ted’s simple, intimate wedding in Bryant Park followed by dinner at Aureole, it sounded just perfect. And it was. Brian and Ted have been together for 17 years. When New York finally legalized same-sex marriage, they thought, what the heck, let’s make this official.

It was one of May’s brightest, sunniest days. Suit jackets were abandoned and groups gathered in the shade. One by one, Brian and Ted’s friends from all over the country trickled in, hugging, congratulating, and tearing up while greeting happy couple. I was in tears within 5 minutes of meeting the couple, and I didn’t even know them! The ceremony was simple and sweet and included a children’s story and readings from friends. The dinner at the impeccable Aureole, was filled with laughter, stories from Brian and Ted’s hay days, and debates about where the gay movement really started (New York City!). I’m proud to present photos from this beautiful, heartfelt wedding. Enjoy the joy.
