{Korean-German} Sala Phuket Wedding

Sala Resort Wedding // Phuket Thailand 

Updated January, 14 2021Jan and Janette met in Japan, fell in love, moved to Singapore, and then threw an awesome destination wedding in Thailand.

Jan is German and Janette is Korean, so their guests flew in from all over the world. Jan’s best man, for example, flew from Japan but was born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin- about 60 miles from where I grew up! Though it continues to happen to me more and more on the road, it was still surreal to be sitting in the resort suite across the world, talking about Spotted Cow and other Wisconsin beers!

The gorgeous wedding (which included 3 dress changes!) took place at Sala Resort, a luxurious beachfront resort in Phuket. The reception was filled with heartfelt speeches from parents and siblings,  in Korean, German, and English. Although Jan’s mothers (who traveled from Germany and Korea) couldn’t communicate, it didn’t stop them from tearing up the dance floor together. That seemed to be the general theme of the evening- people coming together from all over, mixing cultures, to celebrate the love of these two people.
