Stunning Lesbian Wedding Atlanta

Wow, where do I even start to describe the epic-ness of Tiffany and Bekah’s wedding at the Lake Claire Community Land Trust in Atlanta? This was my first time to Atlanta and it was better than I could’ve ever imagined for so many reasons.

I was sitting in hammock in the Philippines when I received Tiffany and Bekah’s wedding inquiry. “My name is Tiffany, and I am writing because my fiancée and I have been simply overwhelmed by your art! Our wedding will be September 27, 2014 in our home city of Atlanta. If you are available on that day (EEEEK!), I can’t tell you what it would mean to us to have you there.”

I knew right away I wanted to do this wedding… any time I have couple that loves my work so much that they want to fly me somewhere to document this piece of their lives, not only am I extremely humbled, but I see it less as business, and more about karma and things meant to be. That was certainly the case with Tiffany and Bekah. When we met, it was as though we had already been friends for years. And even as I write this, over a month after their wedding,  I can tell you we’ve texted nearly every day since! Though I have certainly stayed in touch with many of my clients, this is certainly not a typical post-wedding client relationship!

Shooting Tiffany and Bekah’s wedding was not only a fulfilling moment of my career (total strangers flying me to their wedding) but it was a personal high. Everything about the day was filled with so much love. It was also emotional because Bekah’s parents chose not to be at the wedding, but the love of her community and friends enveloped her and Tiffany in every moment through out the day.

Things ran a little late, so by the time the ceremony came it was almost pitch black. I pushed my camera to its limits to capture the moments without using flash in order to not take away from the power of  ceremony. It was certainly a challenge, but I love the results. Without further ado…Tiffany and Bekah.

From Tiffany:

“Bekah and I met in Atlanta nearly 3 years ago through mutual friends. Though we were both seeing other people at the time, we knew immediately there was something different about the way we felt for one another. During the course of our friendship, we spent hours every day talking, sharing music, art, and dreams for our futures. A beautiful love evolved, and after 6 months of friendship, we decided to take the leap and become a family. Bekah brought with her an incredible son, Kai, and I brought a rambunctious puppy, Rilo.  I made it official by proposing to Bekah on July 11, 2013 in graffiti at Atlanta’s infamous Krog Street Tunnel. We had ventured there on their first date to admire the art and always promised to come back and make graffiti together. Bekah responded to the popped question with her own graffiti “YES, Tiff!” and the rest is history….to come!
