Back in August of 2011, just two months after New York legalized same-sex marriage, Corrine and Stephanie reached out to book me for their wedding. At the time, it was a historic milestone—for them, for the state, and for me. It was slated to be the very first legal same-sex wedding I’d photograph.

But they planned well in advance, and as word spread and couples started celebrating their right to marry, I ended up shooting half a dozen LGBTQ+ weddings before theirs rolled around. Still, when the day finally arrived, it was more than worth the wait.

Held at Midtown Loft and Terrace, their wedding was a joyful, high-energy celebration with rooftop views, a fantastic crowd, and yes—a very beloved dog who may have stolen the show more than once.
