A Queer Love Story in Koh Phangan That Transformed Everything

I first met Guinevere and Lizz two years ago on a paradise island in Koh Phangan, Thailand. It was a fleeting connection—just enough time to feel their vibrant energy and warmth. But that brief encounter left a lasting impression, and we stayed in touch.

When they invited me to photograph their wedding on that very same island, I knew I had to say yes. I had a gut feeling this would be a special celebration. I had no idea, though, just how profoundly this experience would change the trajectory of my life—personally, professionally, and spiritually.

I arrived expecting to stay for a week and shoot a wedding. I ended up staying over a month. Their celebration, surrounded by 250 wildly creative, multicultural friends, was unlike anything I’d ever witnessed. It was electric. It was alive. It was love in its freest form.

Even after shooting over 100 weddings, this one is my favorite. I’ve never danced harder. I’ve never felt more artistically alive. The energy, the joy, the people—everything about it cracked me open.

Guinevere and Lizz met in 2013 on a dance floor in Koh Phangan. After nine months apart, they knew they couldn’t live without each other and reunited to start their life together. Lizz proposed to Guinevere through a spontaneous poem that arrived during meditation. That same energy of divine timing and creative flow runs through every layer of their partnership.

As their love deepened, so did their musical expression. They became Wild Sirenda — a DJ/vocalist/producer duo known for weaving conscious messages into their performances. As of 2016, they’re playing at major festivals around the globe, sharing their magic and music.
