It’s taken me years (yes, years!) to finally blog this wedding—which is wild, considering how close I am to Mark and Trang, and how unforgettable their Hanoi celebration was. I think part of the delay stems from the fact that I was extremely sick throughout the entire event. The day after their wedding, I checked into a hospital and was diagnosed with dengue fever. While I remember shooting in a blur of fever and chills, I’m still proud of the images I managed to capture—and so grateful to finally share them.
Mark and Trang’s wedding was beautifully intimate and low-key, which was a blessing given my condition. Fortunately, several other friends were also documenting the day, so nothing was missed.
One of the most special elements of this wedding was the structure built specifically for the celebration by Mark and Trang’s own production company, Gingerwork Productions, a creative agency based in Hanoi. Their vision brought a unique and heartfelt atmosphere to the entire event, reflecting their artistic sensibilities and deep connection to Vietnam.
Despite the physical challenges I faced that day, this wedding reminds me how much can still shine through: the emotion, the community, and the deep love between two extraordinary people.
